This section lists the various reports of studies
and the responses to various consultations by government, regional
assembly, and others made on
behalf of the TravelWatch NW. other documents issued by TravelWatch NW. [Note (assuming that you are using Internet Explorer) -

Studies
- Report on a Survey of Bus Services and Facilities in the North West,
August 2008, [35 pages, 557kB]
- Migration from Rail. A report [9pp, 250kB]
and appendix [2pp, 70kB]
on studies looking at the effects of free concessionary bus travel on
rail usage. May 2008. Note that an error has
been found in this report (August 2008), and the Appendix has been
revised. This means that in section 6.3 of the report the most
vulnerable cross-boundary corridors in the NW of England are
Blackburn-Bolton (0.22), Blackburn - Burnley (0.33), Blackburn -
Preston (0.56) and Liverpool - Chester (0.56).
- Air Passengers & Public Transport - A report based on surveys of
passengers using airports in the North West [PdF file, 550kB, 33
pages]. There are also two XLS files which represent Appendix 4 of the
report: they are the results and analysis of the surveys at Manchester
and Liverpool Airports. [These files
are 53 & 60kB].
- Rural Transport Funding. A report
issued in August 2006 on the need for good public
transport in rural areas, and the problems of funding it, with
examples of services withdrawn due to lack of funds. [PdF file, 218kB,
22 pages].
- Rail Replacement Buses, report issued in April 2006

- Disrupted Rail Journeys, report on the effects of engineering work
[PDF
file, 992 kB, 22 pages]. This report has been produced with the aid
of financial support from the NW Regional Assembly.
