Other Activities

We have a variety of activities outside worship. They include:

A Sunday Lunch Club, which meets once a month after morning worship.  In February we had lunch at the Blakeney Hotel in Stockton Lane and our March and April lunches will be held there, too.

Central has a small choir which helps in leading the singing for morning and evening worship.  Choir rehearsals are held on most Thursday evenings and new members would be welcomed.  If you are interested do contact our minister, the Revd. Christopher Humble or our Choir Master, Mr Philip Paul.

A House Group meets in the home of one of our members, usually on the first Wednesday morning of each month (apart from Advent and Lent) where a variety of subjects are always under discussion.  In recent months we have  looked at miracles; the war in Afghanistan; some views of the Apostle Paul;  the last book in the Bible, the significance of Christmas and Epiphany etc. etc.  For more information contact Joan or Roy Kilner at 01904 423334.

.

We have a number of regular fellowship and study groups. In Advent and Lent we hold weekly lunchtime talks with visiting speakers to help prepare for the festivals of Christmas and Easter. In the summer we have a series of organ recitals.

Central is also the home of 'Carecent', a project run by people from several different churches which provides breakfasts, friendship and other facilities for homeless people in York.
