The public meeting in Linslade to debate the bypass was a great success - a packed hall (69 people) listened to representatives from Bucks CC, Friends of the Earth and Roadblock. At the start of the meeting a show of hands revealed 10% for the bypass, 74% against and 16% on the fence; at the end of the meeting the figures were 14% for, 81% against and 4% unsure. The most striking point of the evening was the point blank assertion by Marcus Rogers, from Bucks CC, that NONE of the projected improvements in road safety and public transport in the area would be delivered without the bypass. |
