Day 23, Tuesday 8th February 2005 |

Saxon Security out watching again - they claim to be working for nobody, but some people seem to recognise them as "protestor surveillance." Anybody know who they are working for? If you believe they've photographed you or recorded you on video, you are entitled under the Data Protection Act to write to them and ask for copies - the same is true of the police and council employees. Protestors have noticed that carrying your own camera generally makes you feel less intimidated and more secure - speaking of which, the campers have asked if anybody has a 'disposable' camera or two to spare. |

Speaking of security, I stopped by Wellside (daily bulletin 9) on my way home from work tonight. They've stepped up their own security recently - 6 foot fences and two guards at the gate all the time, apparently. That's where the diggers etc. park, and probably where all the security people sleep. It was lit up like a Christmas tree, in spite of which they really didn't want me to photograph it. They were very, very twitchy and definitely trying to intimidate. |

| Bucks CC had their (slightly less) draconian injunction renewed today, so they're obviously a bit twitchy too. Their publicity is all about non-local protestors, but, hey, doesn't the environment affect all of us? And since the government is paying for the wretched bypass, surely it's automatically a national issue? | |||||||||||
